Fieldstone Hosts First Annual Book Food Truck Festival

Books were on the menu at Fieldstone Middle School's First Annual Book Food Truck Festival!
As the culminating activity of a year-long reading journey led by Mrs. Harrington and Mrs. Grant, students transformed their favorite books into creative literary food trucks designed to "serve up" reading recommendations to their classmates. Throughout the year, students visited the library each month, selected books, and completed activities to reflect on and review their reading. For this final project, they thought about which books their classmates might enjoy most and created engaging displays to inspire summer reading.
From "Summer Smoothies" to "Belly's Beach Bites," students used alliteration, illustration, symbolism, creativity, and critical thinking to bring their book recommendations to life in unique and memorable ways.
The goal? To give classmates a taste of great books they might want to read when school is out for the summer.
This is exactly the kind of innovative, engaging learning we are proud to foster in North Rockland, where literacy, creativity, and student voice come together in meaningful ways.
